Dwayne Dueck Partner, Tax Advisory Services BBA (Hons.), CPA, CA
With more than twenty years of experience specializing in tax, Dwayne is dedicated to helping owner-managers and business families enhance their business value and plan strategically for the future through advanced tax planning. His broad expertise spans business, corporate, personal, partnership and trust taxation, retirement and estate planning, business and tax structuring transactions, business acquisitions and divestitures, and the Canadian taxation of non-residents. He is a long-standing member of the Canadian Tax Foundation and the Fraser Valley Tax Technical Group and has contributed as a tax instructor for CPABC, a seminar leader and facilitator for CPA Canada’s In-Depth Tax program and currently as a guest presenter for Video Tax News.
Dwayne earned his Bachelor of Business Administration from Simon Fraser University, receiving the SFU Dean’s Medal for Academic Excellence. He achieved his CPA, CA designation in 1999 and began his career at Cunliffe Schreurs Tupper before moving to KPMG LLP, pursuing a career in tax advisory services. In 2014, Dwayne was invited to join the partnership as a tax partner at Avanti CPA (formerly Tenisci Piva) starting the firm’s comprehensive tax advisory practice, while guiding his clients and team in tax and business advisory services.
Originally from Saskatchewan, Dwayne is a Saskatchewan Roughriders fan and beyond the firm, enjoys mountain biking, downhill skiing, hiking, photography, and camping with his wife and two children. His community involvement has included being a founding member of Marketplace Leaders and serving on its executive committee, serving as a Treasurer for the Kamloops Alliance Church, participating on the business advisory board of Enactus TRU, and as a Treasurer for the Western Canada Theatre Company.
